FAQs

  • About 90 miles from Memphis International Airport. If you need transportation to and from the airport, let Julia know.

  • Technically, yes. These hunts are meant to give women the opportunity to get real experience in different aspects of hunting through bringing women with common interests together. There’s an opportunity to ask questions, learn the why behind each detail of work that goes into the hunt.

  • Not at all! The whole reason Julia created this was to get girls together and learn more about the industry. Now is the time to get started!

  • IN ORDER TO ATTEND A TRIP UNATTENDED BY A PARENT &/OR GUARDIAN, YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE,OR OLDER.

  • The state of Missouri requires you to take your Hunter’s Safety Course prior to buying your license or attending a trip. While the state of Arkansas doesn’t require it, it is highly recommended. You can register for the course here.

All trips will require a license from the state you’re hunting in. Licenses can be found here for Missouri and Arkansas. A full list of required licenses for each state will be sent out in September. If you have further questions, feel free to contact Julia and she will point you in the right direction.

Everyone attending will be required to follow common practices and follow the law.

  • In addition to your hunting license, other recommended items include: outer layer camo, base layer clothing for warmth, hunting waders, a shotgun, ammunition specific to your shotgun and the game being hunted, toe/feet warmers (Hot Hands work great), a change of clothes for each day, any additional clothing if you choose to explore the area and snacks! Additional items may be needed or items may vary depending on the trip. A more detailed list will be shared in September.

  • Julia recommends a long range or full size choke tube, specific to your shotgun. You can find these in store or online at most outdoors stores. If you’d like a specific recommendation, please reach out to Julia.

  • Short answer is yes. Any gear or equipment used will need brought with you. Julia will supply boat transportation where needed, decoys, etc. You will need to bring your own shotgun, ammunition, snacks, etc. Please reach out if you are unsure if something falls under what’s provided.

  • The type of ammo you need depends on the type of waterfowl or game hunted and the type of shotgun you have. When buying, pay attention to the size of your shotgun as it’s easy to mix ammo up and buy the wrong size. While other sizes of ammo will work, a list of recommended ammo for hunts offered is below:

    Ducks - size 2, 3 or 4

    Dove - size 7 1/2 or 8

If you’re unsure if a size will work, please reach out and Julia will be happy to help find the best fit for you.
